LPL Financial has successfully recruited a team of advisors who previously managed $1.15 billion in assets at Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network.

The Southern California-based firm, known as Townsgate Wealth Management, was founded in 2016 and has since grown into an ensemble practice serving high-net-worth individuals, families and business owners.

Townsgate is made up of financial advisors Jim Murray, Larry Bernstein, Abby Goldstein, Michael Kazmer, Brett Goldberg and Wesley Wong, whose financial planning specialties include in-depth portfolio management, fixed income analysis and retirement planning. They are supported by administrative assistants Sarah Levi-Sickman, Joni Melickian and Claire Trentacosta, who are also moving to LPL.

“We maintain a fiduciary focus for clients and take full discretion in trading, running portfolio models and creating highly customized plans to help them work toward their goals,” Murray said in a statement. “Whether we are developing strategies that focus on preserving wealth, building a legacy or sharing wealth with the next generation, our priority is bringing our clients’ visions into reality.”

Bernstein noted that the firm engaged in a yearlong due diligence process in selecting its new home, and it elected LPL to maintain “true independence to operate on our terms.”

Scott Posner, LPL executive vice president for business development, said his organization will provide technology and support to help Townsgate grow its practice and exceed client expectations.
