RIA Mercer Advisors said Thursday that it has hired Alisa Maute, formerly of LPL Financial, as its first head of client development, a group that has “doubled in size over the past two years” to 100 employees.
According to Mercer President Daniel Gourvitch, “One of the things that truly sets Mercer … apart is our commitment to investing in dedicated client development teams in every one of our markets. It is a big part of how we deliver on our fiduciary promise to clients, while creating the context for advisors to do their best work,”
In her new role, Maute will focus on coaching and developing client development professionals, as well as ways to strengthen each of the RIA’s “go-to-market channels” and help to develop “bespoke growth strategies” for these different markets.
Maute worked for LPL Financial for more than three years as an executive vice president, first for the Advisor Solutions Group and more recently for Investment Product Management and Retirement.
Earlier, she spent 13 years at WisdomTree Asset Management, six years with Van Kampen Investments and two years at Morgan Stanley.
“Over the past two decades, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of the nation’s top independent advisory firms, large and small. And even among that group, Mercer Advisors clearly stood out to me,” Maute said in a statement.
Maute’s appointment comes about four months after Mercer hired Elizabeth Hioe as its chief people officer and about a year after it appointed Gün Keresteci as its chief financial officer.

Mercer Advisors is part of Mercer Global Advisors, which is owned by Oak Hill Capital, Genstar Capital and Altas Partners. Based in Denver, it has over 1,120 employees and works with $69 billion in client assets.
