Focus Financial Partners, a partnership of wealth management, business management and related financial firms, said Friday that Seattle-based RIA Merriman Wealth Management will join its Focus Partners Wealth unit on Feb. 1, subject to customary closing conditions.

Merriman is expected to add about $4.16 billion to Focus Partners Wealth’s regulatory assets under management. The deal will be Focus Partners Wealth's ninth acquisition since January 2024.

Merriman, which joined Focus as a network firm in 2012, delivers financial advice to clients around the country. Its roughly 55-member team will gain access to more planning and investing services through Focus Partners Wealth, the firms said.

For its part, Focus Partners Wealth will gain the ability to leverage Merriman’s advisor network to strengthen its footprint in the Pacific Northwest, according to Focus Financial.

Merriman CEO Jeremy Burger will become a division president of Focus Partners Wealth.

“By joining Focus Partners Wealth, we will have even greater capacity to empower our clients with the expertise, confidence, and peace of mind they need to meet their financial goals," Burger said in a statement.

“Merriman and Focus Partners Wealth are dedicated to serving, empowering, and meeting the needs of their clients,” said Michael Nathanson, Focus Financial Partners' CEO. “We’re excited to see what they accomplish together to provide even more and greater opportunities to their clients."
