So, what goes into determining how tolerant to risk clients really are now?
F&G Annuities & Life looked at the factors that might increase or decrease investors' risk tolerance by asking them to rate how 11 topics that have made the news in the past 12 months had affected their view of risk-taking in their own lives.
F&G included the question in its latest investor risk tolerance study.
The survey sample included 1,678 U.S. adults ages 30 years or older who owned financial products valued at $10,000 or more.
Overall, only 72% of the investors described themselves as "more risk averse," down from 78% in 2022 and 2023. But more than half of the investors said they were worried or very worried about nine of the 11 topics included in the question.
