Senate approves measure to keep federal government operating

Stripped of language that defunds the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the senate passed a funding measure that will allow the government to continue operating until Nov. 15. However, John Boehner has said that the measure will not even reach the floor of the House. We are still sliding towards a government shutdown next week.
