7 leading causes of death in the U.S. (infographic)

In 2010, the most recent year data are available, more than 2.4 million resident deaths were registered in the U.S. Heart disease and cancer held the top spots once again. With the gap between cancer and the third leading cause of death, lower respiratory disease, at more than 400,000 deaths, it will be some time before the two relinquish their death-grip on the top spots.
