Best states for retirement aren't the ones you might think

Florida is great, but perhaps you find it too crowded, too hot, or too expensive. Or maybe you want to spend your retirement years in a place that actually made Bankrate's list of the 10 most retiree-friendly states, which Florida did not make. How about Tennessee with its amenable climate and low cost of living? How about Nebraska or South Dakota? Sure, they're a little colder in the winter but the low crime rate and low taxes can temper most chills.
