The presence of bedbugs in hospitals has spiked over the last couple of years. While hospitals try and adapt to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), the presence of bedbugs is an added challenge that is straining many hospitals. Bedbugs, which cause lesions that can in turn lead to infections, can cost a hospital federal funding under PPACA if bacterial infections spike.
