The ongoing debate about where responsibility falls for concussion-linked injuries on former NFL players has reached a new plateau. Lawyers for the NFL maintain that the responsibility for player safety falls with the individual teams and player unions, not with the league. At the same time, former players contend that the league encouraged serious violence and profited from head injuries sensationalized on TV. The decision will most likely be worth billions of dollars to either side.
