As Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner prepares to hand over the reins of his office to White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew, he takes with him an unusual body of experience. Since he joined the Treasury in 1988, Geithner worked through at least nine major world financial crises, including the 2008 meltdown that involved AIG, Bear Sterns and TARP; the 2011 debt ceiling showdown and the 2012 fiscal cliff. How can anybody really walk in those kinds of footsteps?
