Just a few miles from the rich enclave of Greenwich – an affluent town along coastal Connecticut, lies the blighted urban landscape of Bridgeport, marred by closed factories, graffiti and persistent gun violence among teens. The people from both cities barely seem to know the others exist, and yet in the heart of Fairfield County, one of the country's most affluent, there lies a stark and seemingly unbridgeable gap in wealth. How can something like this happen?
