Is pessimism going out of fashion or are hopes just high in the minds of Democrats because they have faith in the current administration? In what was for years a no-brainer: Will the next generation be better off than the previous one? Has become an existential question that strikes directly at the essence of what it means to be an American. The country is now split (like it is in mostly every other aspect imaginable) with Americans evenly divided on whether it is less or more likely that the next generation will be better off than the previous one.
