With employment numbers bumping along at a less-than-stellar pace, four job trends have emerged that demand notice. 1) There is more age diversity in the workplace as people live longer and put off retirement, with many workplaces having as many as five generations working together. 2) More women are at the helm of companies, running 21 of the Fortune 500 and holding more than half of all managerial and professional jobs. 3) High technology is everywhere, with items such as smart phones and app programming creating a $25 billion market by 2015. 4) Health care job growth is king, with more Americans becoming more active users of health care thanks to the Affordable Care Act.
