With fiscal cliff, is AARP too firm on Medicare?

The chief economist for the Concord Coalition, a group for people who want to cut the federal budget deficit, is asking whether AARP is right to focus so narrowly on what benefits Medicare is promising, without seeming to pay much attention to how the government will make good on those promises.
