A promise to a friend

Michelle Singletary's close friend died in an automobile accident around Thanksgiving. At 54, she likely wasn't planning to go, but you'd never know it by going through her things. Singletary and other friends and family members easily found their friend's necessary paperwork and financial information … as well as a tidy apartment with pre-catalogued belongings. It was a thoughtful last gift, Singletary says, and one that everyone should strive to give.
