Funny you should ask that. My wife and I were just talking about an ex-advisor we had. This was about a decade ago or maybe more because Bill Clinton was still the president. Anyway, this guy was slick. He should have been a used-car salesman instead of a financial advisor. He just had that real slick feel about him. You'd ask him a question and he'd talk in circles. He might talk 30 minutes, but you'd never get the answer you were looking for. Somehow, he'd work back to the product that he was trying to sell you. We met on two occasions and that was enough for me. I left for another agent, the same one I have today, and all's been good since then.

Well, the funny thing is, my advisor is also my brother-in-law. So, the short answer is no. The longer answer is that we've been working together for a couple decades. Really, since we all got married and were in the same family. We have a good personal relationship and we also have a good business relationship. He's steered me through numerous potential financial land mines and we've all made some good money along the way.

Not that I know of. I see the news and realize there are people who are always looking to make a dollar out there, but I don't think that's the case with my advisor. We've been working together a few years now, since 2008, and I feel like he's been giving me real good advice.

Yes. I actually have financial advisors in my family and have known some great ones. I have a great respect for advisors since my father was one until he passed away. My husband and I met with an advisor through his company and this person continued to try and sell us products that we didn't need. When we wouldn't buy the products he actually insulted us. My husband has a pretty good temper and I thought he might actually hit this guy.
