The Oxygen Plan Corp. has come up with a 30-question, online stress test that can measure just how miserable home, work and social challenges are making an individual.

Oxygen Plan, Minneapolis, uses the answers to the questionnaire to calculate a Stress Number index ranging from 0, or extreme stress, to 100, or no stress.

About 47,000 people have taken the test.

In 2011, the test takers had an average home stress score of 47, an average work stress score of 53, and an average social stress score of 54.

The stress scores are about the same as in 2009 and 2010, according to Donald Williams, the chief science officer at Oxygen Plan.

Life Gift Cards L.L.C., Colorado Springs, Colo., has come out with gift aimed at women who have no health coverage and way too many bottles of bath salts: a mammogram gift card.

Consumers can buy the cards at http://www.LifeGiftCards.com, and recipients can use the cards at several thousand locations, the company says.

Imaging providers that become gift card preferred providers will get more activity and guaranteed payment for services, the company says.

REPEAL PPACA: THE BOOK

Hoover Institution Press, Stanford, Calif., has published "In Excellent Health: Setting the Record Straight on America's Health Care," by Dr. Scott Atlas.

Atlas, a neuroradiologist who opposes the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of March 2010 (PPACA), argues in the book that the U.S. health care system has been working well, and that the international comparison studies commonly used to question the quality of the U.S. system, such as a 2000 World Health Organization study, have obvious, well-known flaws.

One source of error is differences in the nature of the life expectancy and infant mortality statistics that countries keep, Atlas says.

Atlas also argues that PPACA will shift even more costs onto the private health insurance system and does nothing to control the underlying health care costs.
