The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has replaced temporary life and annuity actuarial table regulations with final regulations.

"These regulations will affect the valuation of inter vivos and testamentary transfers of interests dependent on one or more measuring lives," officials say in the preamble to the regulations, which were published today in the Federal Register.

The final rules involve use of Table 2000CM.

The IRS published the temporary version of the regulations and draft final regulations in May 2009.

The new final regulations that apply to cases of annuities interests for life or terms of years, and other matters as of a date on or after May 1, 2009.

No one filed any comments on the draft regulations, and the IRS held no hearing.
