The financial services office at Ernst & Young L.L.P. has added a group of about 30 insurance tax and life actuarial professionals.
The team previously was part of LECG/SMART, a unit of LECG Corp., Devon, Pa. LECG recently agreed to sell some of the LECG/SMART operations to Grant Thornton L.L.P., Chicago, and some to WeiserMazars L.L.P., New York.
The list of former LECG/SMART staffers moving to Ernst & Young includes Chris DesRochers and Greg Stephenson, according to Ernst & Young, New York.
Ernst & Young has about 3,000 professionals in its insurance practices in the Americas and 7,000 in insurance practices throughout the world, the company says.
