Digital Insurance Inc. has acquired the Benefit Group of New England L.L.C. through a merger.
Digital Insurance, Atlanta, is using acquisitions and other deals to build a national benefits distribution business.
The Benefit Group, Burlington, Vt., was founded in 1990 and now has relationships with about 300 New England and northern New York employers, Digital Insurance says.
The owners and employee of the Benefit Group will go to work for Digital Insurance, Digital Insurance says.
In other insurance distribution deal news, Brown & Brown Inc., Daytona Beach, Fla. (NYSE:BRO), has acquired the assets of United Benefit Services Insurance Agency L.L.C., Newton, Mass., from Stephen Peck, Robert Golden and M. Dennis Guappone.
United Benefit Services is a group that includes G.P. Insurance Agency Inc., Golden/Robbins Insurance Agency Inc. and M.D. Guappone Insurance Agency Inc., and Brown & Brown has bought the assets of the member agencies, Brown & Brown says.
United Benefits Services generates about $6.4 million in annual revenue.
Brown & Brown also has acquired the assets of a separate insurance agency, Beverly T. Gottlieb & Associates, Boston, Mass., from Beverly Gottlieb, Brown & Brown says.
Gottlieb was founded in 1985.
The employees and operations of the agencies will remain in their current offices under the management of Stephen Peck, Brown & Brown says.
