Due to the proliferation of smartphones and social media, the way we find and share information continues to evolve at a dizzying rate.

Twitter provides a great current example. Thanks in large part to the efforts of Managing Editor Corey Dahl, Life Insurance Selling is adding real value for our Twitter followers by allowing us to share current interesting and pertinent information throughout the day.

Whether it is breaking news, an ongoing debate about a controversial issue, a just-released study full of compelling statistics (which can be useful in a sales presentation), or simply great sales or marketing ideas, Twitter allows us to reach our audience immediately. Via the retweet, we can also share the most appropriate information from people or organizations we follow.

Twitter has become the outlet of choice for organizations or celebrities to make big announcements. For example, Denver Broncos exec John Elway recently broke the news that John Fox would be the team's new head coach via Twitter. Hugh Hefner announced his engagement to a 24-year-old Playmate via Twitter on the day after Christmas. The traditional press conference has become a mere tool for confirmation and responding to questions rather than actually announcing anything.

If you're not following us yet on Twitter, do it now at www.twitter.com/LifeInsSelling or @LifeInsSelling. Or if you're not really into Twitter but are a little bit curious, you can still keep up with our latest tweets by checking our Twitter feed on the home page of our website at www.lifeinsuranceselling.com. It constantly updates with our latest three tweets, and you can view them by clicking any highlighted link.
