It's been huge. Not a day goes by that I don't use the computer for something–I even take my laptop with me on vacation, which my wife loves! So, it's been a part of every financial decision I've made for years. I pay all my bills online; I use it to transfer money between accounts. I use it to research financial
investments so I know what I'm getting into. I check my stock portfolio online a couple times a quarter. For me, it's been an invaluable resource.

My husband and I used the Internet when we first signed up with our advisor. We punched in his name just to see what was out there. Unfortunately the advisor we had been using had passed away, so we were in the market for a new one. We got a referral for this guy from a friend who had used him, but we wanted to check him out beforehand. We found nothing bad about him on the Internet, so we went ahead. He's been pretty good so far.

I have a number of CDs and money market accounts, so I check Bankrate whenever they mature to make sure I'm getting the best deal. Also, I used that site when I refinanced a while back to compare mortgage rates. There's also the retirement calculators, which I check from time to time just to make sure that I'm still on track. I check my bank balance online; I use the Internet for most of my financial transactions.

Oh, I have been retired for a while, so my need for the computer is pretty limited. When we revised our financial plan, our agent showed us how we could see some of the accounts on the Internet. That was pretty nifty. I guess I'm just old-fashioned; I don't use the computer much. My son bought me a new one for my bedroom a couple of years ago, but it's so complicated, I never even use it.
