Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich., the new chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, is preparing to focus the panel's attention on the effects of the Affordable Care Act package on employers.

The committee will hold a hearing on the "economic and regulatory burdens imposed by the enactment and implementation"of the Affordable Care Act at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Longworth House Office Building.

The act is the legislative package that includes the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act.

The committee will hear oral testimony only from invited witnesses, but any individual or organization not scheduled for an oral appearance can submit a written statement for consideration by the committee, officials say.

At press time, the list of invited witnesses was not yet available.
