Lisa Plotnick, a former director at Cerulli Associates, joined the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) as Director of Research focusing on annuities.
Cathy Weatherford, IRI's president, said in a news release announcing Plotnick's hiring, that the newly created position that Plotnick fills "will solidify IRI as an industry leader in research. It will help us expand our research offerings, increasing the quality and quantity of data and information our members, the media and consumers have come to rely on."
Prior to joining IRI, Plotnick served as a director at Cerulli Associates from 2005-2010, where she oversaw Cerulli's insurance initiatives including the development, distribution and strategic positioning of annuities and life insurance. She was also the lead author of a number of research studies including Insurance Product Distribution Opportunities, and Variable Annuity Asset Management: Growing Assets in a New Environment, IRI states. She also developed the annual Cerulli Quantitative Update: Annuities and Insurance.
Plotnick has also held numerous other positions including VP and director of variable annuity research at Financial Research Corp. (FRC), various positions at John Hancock Life, an actuarial assistant with William M. Mercer's defined benefit valuation group and a policy analyst for the City of New York.
