For seniors looking to enroll in Medicare Part D plans during the current enrollment period, ending Dec. 31, Walgreens drugstores are providing prescription use reports which may help in selecting a plan. The free pharmacy reports outline the projected costs associated with each plan with the goal of helping seniors choose a plan with the greatest savings for their particular drug use patterns.

Health care reform changes to the Medicare Part D program have resulted in fewer but more targeted plan options for 2011. Walgreens vice president of operations, Richard Ashworth, explained that the reports will help members understand and assess the plan options available to them. In addition to the reports, Walgreens will provide a free booklet, "Medicare Made Clear," to inform seniors about Medicare Parts A through D and outline the enrollment process.
