The Internal Revenue Service wants to know what you want to know.
The agency is asking members of the public to make recommendations for entries on its 2010-2011 guidance priority list, according to IRS Notice 2010-43.
Suggestions for the original list are due June 11.
The IRS will consider factors such as whether the recommended guidance resolves significant issues relevant to many taxpayers; whether the recommended guidance promotes sound tax administration; whether the recommended guidance can be drafted in a manner that will enable taxpayers to easily understand and apply the guidance; whether the IRS can administer the recommended guidance on a uniform basis; and whether the recommended guidance reduces controversy and lessens the burden on taxpayers or the IRS.
