The National Association of Insurance Commissioners has picked the leaders of teams that will answer federal agencies' questions about efforts to implement the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

The Accident and Health Working Group, part of the Life and Health Actuarial Task Force at the NAIC, Kansas City, Mo., is working with other NAIC panels to prepare one response to federal agencies' questions about minimum medical loss ratios, and another response to questions about health insurance rate review programs.

Answers to the federal agencies' requests for comments are due May 10.

Rick Diamond of the Maine Bureau of Insurance will head the MRL response team, and Julia Philips of the Minnesota Department of Commerce will head the rate review response team, an NAIC representative says.
