Lincoln National Corp. (NYSE:LNC) is starting to sell plans designed to meet Hawaiian temporary disability insurance program requirements.

In Hawaii, employers with 2 or more employees must provide temporary disability coverage.

Lincoln, Radnor, Pa., says its new Hawaii TDI product is a "wage replacement" program. The program will pay disability or sick leave benefits to replace some of the wages a worker loses if the worker is unable to work due to an off-the-job sickness or injury.

Lincoln is using the Lincoln I-Team program to set up the Hawaii TDI plans.
