Prudential Financial Inc. (NYSE:PRU) will be working with a large dental plan administrator to offer group dental coverage.
Prudential, Newark, N.J., is teaming with Group Dental Services Inc., a unit of Coventry Health Care Inc., Rockville, Md. (NYSE:CVH).
Group Dental runs a dental care network that has contracts with providers in 130,000 offices.
Prudential will start by marketing Group Dental-based indemnity plans and preferred provider plans to sponsors of dental plans with fewer than 1,000 members.
Prudential hopes to begin issuing quotes for the dental plans sometime between March 31 and June 30.
