CANNEX Financial Exchanges Ltd. has hired Gary Baker to be president of the U.S. division.

Baker previously was vice president, income solutions, at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass., according to CANNEX, Toronto.

CANNEX sells producers comparative information about income annuities.

Baker has a bachelor's degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University.

- The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa., has hired Kevin Lynch to be an assistant professor of insurance.

Lynch, a Vietnam war veteran, has been a regional management associate at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Minneapolis. He also has been an agency owner.

Lynch holds 7 American College designations, including the Chartered Life Underwriter designation, and he also holds the Certified Financial Planner designation.

- American International Group Inc., New York (NYSE:AIG), has hired Peter Hancock to be executive vice president, finance, risk and investments.

Hancock previously was vice chairman of KeyCorp, Cleveland.

- Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky. (NYSE:HUM), has hired Roy Goldman to be vice president and chief actuary.

Goldman has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Franklin and Marshall University and a doctorate in mathematics from Rutgers University. He holds the Charter Enterprise Risk Analyst professional designation.

- American United Life Insurance Company, a unit of OneAmerica Financial Partners Inc., Indianapolis, has hired Peter Welsh to be vice president of product and marketing strategy.

Welsh previously was managing director of Pulse Logic, Chicago.

Welsh has a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from Indiana University. He holds the Certified Public Accountant professional designation.

- Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford (NYSE:HIG), has hired Brian Laubacker to be regional vice president of sales of the western United States for the company's Individual Life Insurance Division.

Laubacker reviously managed the assisted sales division at Saybrus Partners, a unit of Phoenix Companies Inc., Hartford (NYSE:PNX).

Laubacker has a bachelor's degree in science and finance from the State University of New York at Geneseo.

- M Holdings Securities Inc., Portland, Ore., has hired Brian Bristow to be vice president, resources.

Bristow has a bachelor's degree in psychology from De Paul University and a master's degree in business from the University of Phoenix.

- American Specialty Health Inc., San Diego, has hired Debi Heck to be vice president, health management strategies, at the Healthyroads wellness subsidiary.

Heck previously was an assistant vice president in the health and benefits practice at Aon Consulting, a unit of Aon Corp., Chicago (NYSE:AON).

Heck has a bachelor's degree in community health education from the University of Northern Iowa and a master's degree in wellness management from Ball State University in Indiana.

- Newport Group Inc., Heathrow, Fla., a retirement services and asset management firm, has hired Joseph Cosentino to be a regional director.

He previously was a senior retirement plan consultant at Ross, Sinclaire and Associates Inc., Cincinnati.

Cosentino has a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Connecticut. He holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary professional designation.

- Lockton Inc., Kansas City, Mo., has promoted Thomas Schaffler to president of the Chicago employee benefits practice, and it has promoted Sheri Pixley to executive vice president and practice leader of the Lockton Dunning Benefits health and welfare practice in Dallas.

Schaffler has been an executive vice president and producer in the Chicago office. He has a bachelor's degree in insurance and risk management from Florida State University.

Pixley has been working in the Dallas benefits practice since 1992.
