The managers of CaliforniaChoice, a for-profit benefits purchasing exchange, have added major medical coverage from Anthem Blue Cross.
CHOICE Administrators Inc., a unit of the Word & Brown Companies, Orange, Calif., runs the CaliforniaChoice program.
Anthem Blue, part of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis, now has agreed to sell health maintenance organization plans and preferred provider organization plans through the exchange starting June 1.
The exchange also offers health plans from units of Health Net Inc. Woodland Hills, Calif.; Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, Calif.; Sharp Health Plan, San Diego; and Western Health Advantage, Sacramento, Calif.
