So now that the president's speech is over, what do boomers think? According to a study by BBC World News American and Harris Interactive, 89 percent of boomers give the state of the union a negative rating. Of those, older boomers were likely to give a more negative rating than younger boomers. Half of boomers over 55 rated the state of the union as "poor", compared with 44 percent of those between 45 and 54.
Boomers are only slightly more negative than their younger counterparts though. Overall, 84 percent of survey respondents agreed the current state of the union is negative.
