Lincoln National Corp. (NYSE:LNC) has rolled out new versions of its group short-term disability insurance policies.
The group protection business at Lincoln, Radnor, Pa., says the group STD policy now includes a longer standard benefit period for women who undergo C-section procedures.
A new rehabilitation assistance benefit can increase benefits for claimants who participate in approved rehabilitation programs, and it can help employers to make the "reasonable accommodates," such as changes in furniture, needed to help an employee get back on the job.
A new family income benefit can provide extra income to tide families over if a breadwinner who is out on claim dies while collecting Lincoln disability benefits.
Lincoln writes the policies through Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in most of the country and through Lincoln Life & Annuity Company of New York in New York.
