Ronald A. Katz Technology Licensing L.P. says 3 insurers have agreed to license use of call center technologies that the firm controls.

Ronald A. Katz, Los Angeles, has negotiated the licensing agreements with Allianz of America Inc., a unit of Allianz S.E., Munich, Germany; AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company of New York, a unit of AXA S.A., Paris; and American Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus, a unit of Aflac Inc., Columbus, Ga.

Ronald A. Katz controls the patents to technologies used in delivering customer service over the telephone and through automated systems that combine use of automated systems and live agents, the firm says.

The firm is not disclosing other license terms.

Ronald Katz helped found the computerized call center industry, and he helped start a company that is now known as the First Data Voice Services division of First Data Corp., Atlanta.
