- UnitedHealth saw a decrease of 1.7 million people served in the commercial benefits market, "reflecting the significant decline in U.S. employment in 2009."
- The ratio of medical claims to premiums "was slightly better than expected due to the decreasing prevalence of H1N1 during the course of the quarter."
