John Hancock Financial has named Mike Treske to be head of annuity distribution for John Hancock and president of John Hancock Wood Logan.
Treske has been the head of the variable annuity financial planners channel at John Hancock, Boston, a unit of Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto. (TSX:MFC) He succeeds Robert Cassato, who is now chairman of John Hancock Annuity Distribution and a senior advisor to John DesPrez III, Manulife's chief operating officer.
Treske has a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
In related news, Chris Mee has taken over as head of the financial planners channel. Mee has been the divisional sales manager for the Southeastern region.

- Altigro Resource Group L.L.C., Fairfield, N.J., has hired Thomas Daniels to be a benefits consultant with the company's wholesale brokerage team.
Daniels, previously coordinated sales for UniCare, a unit of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis, in Teaneck, N.J. He is a past president of the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters, Westfield, N.J., the recipient of the 2006 Lou Mattei NJAHU Lifetime Achievement Award, and a former member of the New Jersey Governor's Health Care Task Force on Affordability.
– The National Committee for Quality Assurance, Washington, has hired Sarah Thomas to be vice president for publicy and communications. She previously was director of the Public Policy Institute health team at AARP, Washington.
Thomas succeeds Richard Sorian, who has been nominated to become assistant secretary for public affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Thomas has a master's degree in health policy and management from Harvard University.
– Premier Health Exchange Inc., Bedminster, N.J., has hired Scott Arlotta to be vice president of business development. Arlotta previously was an account executive at Viant Inc., Naperville, Ill.
Arlotta has a bachelor's degree in information technology from Fordham University.
