Principal Financial Group Inc. (NYSE:PFG) has agreed to continue to be the title sponsor of the Principal Charity Classic golf tournament.
Principal, Des Moines, (NYSE:PFG) says the agreement should keep the tournament in Des Moines through 2012.
The tournament has raised $1.7 million for Iowa children's charities during the first 3 years of its existence, Principal says.
The 2010 tournament is set to start May 31 at the Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa.

- Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, Golden Valley, Minn., a unit of Allianz S.E., Munich, says it has awarded $272,500 in grants to 37 Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn., community groups that help seniors.
- The Standard Charitable Foundation, an affiliate of StanCorp Financial Group Inc., Portland, Ore., (NYSE:SFG) has awarded a 1-year, $45,000 grant to Give an Hour, a veterans' mental health program.
Give an Hour arranges for volunteer counselors to provide free mental health services for troops and families suffering from the effects of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Give an Hour hopes to recruit 10% of the 400,000 licensed U.S. mental health professionals to help provide the counseling services.
– Davis Vision, Plainview, N.Y., a vision benefits company, says it donated $13 million in vision services and materials in 2009 through its Focus on America outreach program and other charitable programs.
