A unit of MetLife Inc. has introduced the MetLife Dental Health Manager program.
MetLife, New York, will be offering the program to new and existing MetLife group benefits customers with 500 or more employees. Employers who choose the stand-alone program option can get it at no additional cost. Employers also can choose to tie the program into another vendor's disease management program for a one-time setup fee.
MetLife will use dental utilization data, systemic risk data and results from risk assessment survey to calculate a risk and disease score for each participant.
MetLife will steer patients toward information they can use to improve their oral health and overall health, and it will give employers aggregate reports that they can use to monitor employee health and make decisions about their dental plans.
MetLife also is offering a free dental disease management program guide.
