Tom Westman, a former firefighter who helped respond to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the New York World Trade Center and also won a Survivor competition, will appear in a Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains special.
The special will air on CBS at 8 p.m. EST Feb. 4.
Westman has been working for Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford, for 3 years.
He started out serving in the New York City Fire Department in 1985. He participated in Ladder Company 108 rescue efforts after airliners crashed into the World Trade Center Twin Towers.
In 2005, Westman participated in Survivor: Palau and won $1 million
Westman, who works in Hartford's New York office and sells group life and disability products, told a Hartford Courant reporter in 2007 that he avoids talking to brokers about his stint on Survivor.
"I want to be seen as the group benefits rep from the Hartford, not the guy running around in a loincloth," Westman said, according to the Hartford Courant.
