A privately held company says it is still in the market for businesses that sell employee benefits to small employers.

Digital Insurance Inc., Atlanta, a company that uses the Web to run small group benefits programs, says it completed 21 acquisitions in 2009 and hopes to "accelerate its acquisition strategy" this year.

Digital Insurance is in a position to make deals in spite of the state of the economy and the "challenges posed by pending health care reform," the company says.

Digital Insurance does not report financial data, but it says its revenue increased about 30% between 2008 and 2009.
