The American Academy of Actuaries' board has elected Mary Frances Miller president-elect.
Miller will succeed Ken Hohman as president-elect of the AAA, Washington, when he becomes president of the academy at the close of its annual meeting Oct. 26, according to a board announcement.
Miller is a consulting actuary with Select Actuarial Services, Nashville, Tenn.
The AAA board also announced the election of 5 officers, including 3 vice presidents.
The officers' terms will start at the end of the AAA's annual meeting, which is set to take place next week.
Andrea Sweeny, a consulting actuary and principal at Casualty Actuarial Assistance, Meriden, Conn., was elected secretary, and John Schubert, a consulting actuary with Deloitte Consulting, Chicago, was elected treasurer.
Art Panighetti, a vice president at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Milwaukee, will be the vice president in charge of the AAA's Life Practice Council, and Ethan Kra, a worldwide partner and chief actuary for Mercer, a unit of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., New York, will be the vice president in charge of the academy's Pension Practice Council.
Henry Siegel, a vice president at New York Life Insurance Company, New York, will become the vice president in charge of the academy's Actuaries Risk Management and Financial Reporting Practice Council.
