The House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing Oct. 6 that will focus partly on the idea of "creating a national insurance office."

The full committee will discuss "Capital Markets Regulatory Reform: Strengthening Investor Protection, Enhancing Oversight of Private Pools of Capital, and Creating a National Insurance Office," according to a notice posted on the committee website.
