The government has hired a New York nonprofit organization to help improve U.S. health care quality.
IPRO, Lake Success, N.Y., a health care quality group, has received a 1-year contract from the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to help Medicare-funded "quality improvement organizations" and the hospitals affiliated with the QIOs use an AHRQ discharge planning quality.
AHRQ has options to hire IPRO to continue with the work for up to 4 additional option years, IPRO says.
