The Internal Revenue Service has 9 openings on a committee that gives it an idea about how members of the public view tax administration issues.
The 9 openings on the Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities include vacancies for employee plans members and vacancies for members representing other types of exempt organizations, IRS officials say.
The Treasury secretary appoints the ACT members. New ACT members will serve 2-year terms that will start June 2009.
People who want to serve on the ACT can apply by letter or by filling out a form on the IRS Web site.
Application forms and letters are due Dec. 1.
