A health insurer has announced the departure of a high-level executive.
HealthMarkets Inc., North Richland Hills, Texas, says David Fields has resigned from his positions as president and chief operating officer.
Phillip Hildebrand, who has been the company's chief executive, will take on the title of president, HealthMarkets says.
HealthMarkets focuses on selling health insurance to individuals, small groups and people who are self-employed.
Fields began working for HealthMarkets in 2007, after leaving a post as president of the UniCare Life and Health Insurance Company unit of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis.
Fields started out as the HealthMarkets chief operating officer. He became president of HealthMarkets in June.
