BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has created a Web-based database that can supply physician-specific quality and price information.
The BlueCross Physician Quality and Cost Transparency program uses quality measures established by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, Washington, and it also includes median costs per episode for a number of specific conditions, according to Tennessee Blue, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Tennessee Blue provides or administers health coverage for about 2 million Tennessee residents.
