An oncology center network says it has started a unit that can help providers and insurers find more cost-effective cancer treatments.
US Oncology Inc., Houston, says the new Innovent Oncology division will help doctors and health plans work together to identify appropriate treatments, improve patient support, and plan for the needs of patients with advanced cases of cancer.
One program component will be a Web-based service that can narrow variations in cancer treatments, US Oncology says.
