A large health insurer has hired an executive to revamp the business that sells coverage to small employers.

The UnitedHealthcare arm of UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn., has hired Jeff Lucht to be a senior vice president.

Lucht, who previously was president of national markets for the Mid-Atlantic region at Aetna Inc., Hartford, will "lead a new initiative to assess and strengthen UnitedHealthcare's market position in its small group business," UnitedHealth says. "He will be responsible for leading the review of pricing, product features and positioning in each of UnitedHealthcare's markets, with a focus on improving its competitive position."
