About 72% of U.S. residents would like to be able to make appointments with their doctors through the Internet.
Researchers in the San Francisco of Deloitte L.L.P., have published that finding in a summary of results from a recent survey of 3,000 U.S. residents.
About 78% of the participants said they would like to be able to customize their coverage, rather than getting a pre-packaged option, and 73% want to get health quality and price information from their carriers, the researchers report.
About 88% are interested in in-home self-monitoring devices, but only 56% are interested in disease management programs.
About 16% have used a retail medical clinic, and 34% said they might use a retail clinic in the future.
Another 39% said they would consider having an elective procedure in a foreign country if they could save 50% and be assured the quality was equal to or better than the quality available in the United States.
