The National Committee for Quality Assurance is seeking comments on a proposed Wellness and Health Promotion evaluation program.

The NCQA, Washington, is thinking about offering a broad-based accreditation program for comprehensive wellness services vendors; a separate accreditation program for stand-alone weight management or smoking cessation programs; and a certification program for organizations that offer only specific wellness program components, such as health appraisals.

The comprehensive program would cover matters such as health coaching services and protection of individual health information.

Comments are due June 30.
